London is getting Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX PLUS

Wow wow wow, just wow! Yes, you’ve read that right, London is going to get Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX PLUS, second update on the third installment of the series, never released in Europe! Where? Obviously at Las Vegas Arcade Soho!

After several successful tournaments held at Las Vegas (enjoy our reports here and here), and a notable increase in Wangan players around the London area, we’ve been informed by LV staff that they managed to purchase the never-released-in-Europe upgrade for their machines!

This is awesome news, especially because without any official release of the upgrade pack, as far as we know this is going to be an European exclusive and Las Vegas will be the only place to play it in the entire continent!

So what now? Well, WMMT3DX+ is actually the second upgrade pack for the original WMMT3, so in order to let the player transfer (see: convert) their tuning cards, Las Vegas is going to install WMMT3DX (not PLUS) first and run it for a couple of weeks. We do not have a fixed date for this, but it’s going to happen approximately within the next 2 weeks or so, maybe earlier (we’ll keep you posted on that).

During those two weeks of WMMT3DX (again, not PLUS), you’ll be able to convert your tuning cards (keeping your mileage) and tune it even more (up to 825HP, thanks to new story chapters). Also, Las Vegas is going to run a tournament on June 21 to celebrate this first update!

• New max HP tuning limit: from 820HP to 825HP
• Introduction of MAXI Coins
• 4 new cars: Subaru Impreza WRX (GRB), Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (CZ4A), Mazda MX-5 (NCEC), Nissan Failady Z (Z34)
• New course: Nagoya Expressway Loop Line
• New BGM tracks

Said so, after these initial two weeks (and tournament), 3DX will finally (and ultimately) upgraded to 3DX PLUS. Once again, everybody will be able to transfer their tuning cards keeping all the mileage. We know, it sounds a bit tricky, but IF YOU WISH TO RETAIN YOUR MAXIMUM TUNE 3 MILEAGE, IT IS ONLY POSSIBLE VIA THIS METHOD. Still we do not know yet when this is going to happen, but we will keep you posted.

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties the kit for WMMT3DX+ hasn’t been installed on the current machines. We’re in contact with LV Arcade and we’ll make sure to keep you posted on the matter.
