SEGA and Bandai Namco bring Initial D and Wangan Midnight on the same stage

The two Japanese arcade giants, Sega and Bandai Namco Entertainment, recently host a one-of-a-kind event for all the fans of their latest arcade racers, Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5.

The event, called Gekiso Festival Maximum Stage [激走祭マキシマムチューン], was held at Bandai Namco headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo on September 20. It basically just consisted in a series of showoffs of both games, with special guests, and the producers of both racing series doing some talking about the development process.

Gekiso Festival maximum stageAll the attendants were also given a special promotional gift, consisting in two unique IC cards for the the games.


They came attached to a special flyer. Here’s a close up of the merchandise.

激走祭マキシマムチューンBandai Namco, also took the chance to announce their latest update for WMMT5 called, surprise surprise, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 DX. Here’s a video of the live announcement.
