New glitch found in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3

WMMT3 glitch bugRecently we came across something rather bizarre while playing Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 in Las Vegas arcade in London. We’re not sure if others have ever experienced such weirdness, but since we didn’t find any other proof online we call the “new glitch” situation (yes, on a 2007 game!).

Basically the problem occurs when trying to challenge one of the top ghosts, in the battle for the number 1. In our case it was the top player for the Wangan Line course.

As you can see from the video above, the race started and we were completely alone on the course, no opponent ghost and no traffic at all. You’ve also probably noticed that at the start of the battle we were already with a minus 9,000+ metres dis-advantage and after roughly 25 seconds after the start our “invisible” opponent was already at the finish line, when we still had several kilometers to go.

It is safe to say that if this glitch/bug occurs, there is no way for you to win.

Sure, we looked for an answer across the internet, but we didn’t find any concrete reason or solution for this problem. We’ve been told that probably it’s just corrupted data and the only way to “fix” the problem could be one of the following:

  • Find the owner of the ghost and let him run on the same course in order to overwrite the corrupted data
  • Delete and reset all the cabinet’s data

Sure, to avoid the data loss (records, ghosts, etc) you want to track down the owner of the original ghost, but we know it’s not always easy. In our case the owner, RICKY, has set the record in 2009 and we don’t know who he is and he still plays, but sure we’re gonna try to find him somehow.

In the meantime, if you happen to know something more about this glitch, make sure to let us know!
