SEGA Amusements Japan has recently started the first location testing for its upcoming Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity. The hyped next installment of the long-running arcade drifting series has been set up inside the well-known SEGA GiGO video arcade in Akihabara, Tokyo.
For the event, SEGA has organized some sort of tournament, to test gamers reactions and feedbacks while competitive playing. Given by the below pictures, the events looks quite a success (at least partecipation-wise).
The cabinets are obviously still there (as part of the location testing period), so obviously videos featuring exclusive unseen footage from the game started to popup on YouTube.
Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity still doesn’t have a release date for Japan, but it’ll probably be somewhere in 2014 Q2. Still no words on a non-Japanese countries version, but since (at least here in the UK) SEGA Amusements stopped the release of the IDAS series after the 4th installment, chances to get this in our arcades are very slim.
